Kari Meyer, Director

Kari lives just outside of Dow City, Iowa, with her husband, Scott, their two large dogs, and two ornery cats. Married since 1990, Kari and Scott have built a full and lively life together. Scott teaches sixth grade at Denison Middle School, and Kari joined the Norelius Community Library in July 2025.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida and a Master’s in Public Administration from Drake University in Des Moines. Before joining the library, Kari spent many years at Western Iowa Tech Community College.

Kari and Scott have four grown children. Owen lives in Denison and works at Fareway—he’s an avid Monarch fan and an enthusiastic bowler. Ella and her husband, Conner Goode, live in Ankeny and both work at Iowa State University, where they share their home with three beloved cats. Anna Meyer, a Flagler College graduate from St. Augustine, Florida, will soon be joining the U.S. Navy. Olivia and her husband, Seth Owens, are also in the Navy and currently stationed at Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, with their two adorable dogs.
