While primarily funded through your tax dollars, the Norelius Community Library can provide the best service and programs through the help of your donations and volunteer efforts. Want to help? You can support your local library in many ways, including:
Volunteer Your Time
We always need volunteers! Whether it's to help with Summer Library Program, set up chairs for a special event, or help in the children's library, your volunteer hours are greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the library, stop by, or call us at 712-263-9355.
Donate Materials
Have some gently used books, board games, puzzles or craft supplies you no longer need? Bring them to the library! Your books may be added to our collection, placed in the paperback exchange, or sold to the Friends of the Library for a nominal fee for their book sales. Craft supplies are always needed for children's and teen programming, and your gently used board games and puzzles can be added to the collection for in-library circulation or to replace worn-out copies of what we already have.
Make a Monetary Donation
If you would like to see more programming and events at your library, consider making a direct donation! You can also donate money towards any library goal or effort. Any donations with a specific interest in mind should be routed through the Library Director. Your donation is also tax deductible.
Become a Friend of the Library
The Friends of the Norelius Community Library meet five times a year in January, March, May, September and November.
What does it mean to become a Friend of the Library?
- Friends of the Library support and monetarily help with Children's programming.
- Friends do fundraising by hosting several sales throughout the year, including Book Sales, White Elephant Sales, and the Recycled Christmas and Baked Goods Sale.
- Friends lend support to the Summer Library Program or special events whether it be in the form of money, items donated, or time.
The Annual Membership Dues are as follows:
- $30 for Business Sponsors
- $15 for Family Sponsors
- $10 for Single Sponsors
Your membership fee and any donations are tax deductible.
